Two New Late-Breaking Sessions Added!

The 3 April 2024 Magnitude 7.4 and 6.4 Earthquakes and Aftershock Sequence Near Hualien City, Eastern Taiwan

In this late breaking SSA session, the 2024 Annual Meeting co-chairs and convener Kuo-Fong Ma, National Central University, Taiwan, are welcoming abstract contributions from all disciplines that are relevant to this sequence. These include, but are not limited to, seismological and geodetic studies on the M7.4 mainshock rupture properties, the relationship between the mainshock and aftershock sequence, ground failures such as landslides and liquefaction, earthquake and tsunami early warning and resilient engineering.

In this late breaking SSA session, the 2024 Annual Meeting co-chairs are welcoming abstract contributions from all disciplines that are relevant to this sequence. These include, but are not limited to, studies of the mainshock rupture properties, seismic wave propagation, intraplate earthquake dynamics of the region and ground shaking reporting.

We look forward to welcoming you to the meeting in Anchorage, Alaska, which will include a wide range of engaging lectures, poster presentations and special events.

The week will start early on Monday, 29 April and conclude Friday afternoon, 3 May.  Don’t miss a once-in-a-life time opportunity to study earthquake science on a cruise through Prince William Sound on Monday.  Tuesday offers workshops, a second field trip and the opening keynote and reception.  The technical sessions, networking events, special interest groups meetings and more are scheduled for Wednesday through Friday.

Organizing a Special Interest Group at the SSA Annual Meeting

SSA offers registered attendees an opportunity to organize one-hour Special Interest Group (SIG) sessions, which provide an opportunity to share information on new initiatives or opportunities of common interest to meeting attendees.

Submissions are now open until 10 January 2024. View the complete list of technical sessions by clicking the button below. If you don’t see a technical session for your research, submit to the general session and additional sessions will be organized in January.
